Jefferson County Library Foundation
How you can Help:
TBA
Description:
We provide financial and program support for children's literacy programs and services not available to the community through the Library.
Programs and Projects:
These are some of the services and programs the Foundation funds and supports:
* The Traveling Children's Library (TCL), bringing books, materials, programs and services from the public libraries directly to children residing in low-income neighborhoods of Jefferson County. TCL not only brings books to children unable to gain access to our libraries, but it also encourages and assists families in making reading a part of daily life.
* Year-round children and teens programs in the areas of arts, sciences, and culture to instill the love of literature and to introduce the variety of resources of the public libraries.
* Acquisition and preservation of special collections for the benefit and enjoyment of the general public.
* Free programs and events, including noted authors, that provide educational and cultural services to our community.
* Purchases of needed books, audio books, CDs, DVDs, and videos to augment both the youth and adult collections.
* Recruitment and organization of hundreds of volunteers who assist with the events and activities sponsored by the Foundation.
* Management of the Friends Gift and Book Shop at the Belmar Library.
