We need them, we need to give to them, we need to support them, we need to volunteer for them, and we need to spread the word for them. And sometimes it really does take only $5 or a Facebook widget.

Philanthorpy is more that creating legacy, it is about doing what you can when you can for the betterment of society without an alternative motive or prospect for personal gain. It is about sharing your wallet, your skills, your time, your knowledge and your leadership whenever and whereever it is needed.

I love to volunteer for organizations that focus on youth and education, because I believe that education is the biggest catalyst for positive change and that our youth are the future. I donate the most to groups who I volunteer for because I feel like I have a better sense of how the money will be used. Personal investment in the causes I support is very important to me rather than being content with simply writing a check.

Environment, financial literacy, and sick kiddos.

I believe in inspiring philanthropy and community engagement. Every choice we make has an impact. The more we are aware of the imprint we make on our friends, our families, our neighbors, and our earth, the more our mindful living can create change.

I am looking for a way to put my charitable giving on auto-pilot, show off my giving info to my family and friends to encourage them to give, and find local events I can participate in from time to time.

I'm a big believer in the power of a few individuals to make great changes and in "being the change that you want to see in the world". I tend to volunteer for the organizations that I donate to because I find that gives me the best eye into what they really do and how they function - hopefully this site will enable me to find folks that share that philosophy and they can recommend their favorite charities which they trust and value.
