Hibernation begins!
Posted October 9th, 2008 by Colorado Reptil...With the weather turning cooler this week, we have been on hibernation watch. In the next few days, we'll pack away more than 35 box turtles and desert tortoises. Most of the turtles will be refrigerated for hibernation while larger animals are packed in specially designed hibernacula and store in a cold room. Our Hibernation Guide http://www.corhs.org/CoRHS_Box_Turtle_Hibernation_Guide_08.pdf explains the process and why it is so important to the health of these animals.
